“Contranym” Park
Contradictions as Solutions
A contronym is a word that holds two contradictory meanings. One example is "dust," you can layer dust on or remove dust by “dusting.”
The current use of this site is rarely used parking space, contradictory to its natural lively origins. The solution therefore was to employ seemingly contradictory actions for mutually beneficial outcomes, serving both native Colorado Shortgrass Prairies and the CU Boulder community.
This began by “cleaving” the land, separating the people traveling through from short grasses in order for them to exist together. Bridge-ways and ally-ways were developed bring people into contact with the nature while never touching it.
